Adding a Trust Payments Connection

Modified on Tue, 8 Oct at 9:54 AM

Adding a Trust Payments connection to your BR-DGE retail channel requires you to collect some information for us from your Trust Payments Account. This article details the information BR-DGE requires, and how you can locate it.

Trust Payments Account

If you don't already have a Trust Payments Account, you must contact their Support Team.

BR-DGE requires the following information to allow you to route payments to Trust Payments through our platform:

  • Webservice Username & Password
  • jwt Issuer
  • jwt Signing secret
  • Site Reference
  • Region

Please note that some of these details are sensitive. We ask you to handle these with care.

  • How to locate your Webservice Username & Password?
  • Sign in to MyST using your provided Username & Password.
  • Click Users from the left side-menu.
  • On the Manage users page, click Add User.
  • Fill in the required fields:
    • Add a password for the User. This should be provided to BR-DGE as the password to be used in the payment requests.
    • Select Webservices as the Role.
    • Under Valid IP/Network(s) add 0.0.0.0/0.
    • Under "Role if Invalid IP" select "Prevent Login".
    • Click Save.

  • How to locate your jwt Issuer and Signing Secret?
  • Email Trust Payments Support requesting they create a “Webservices JWT” user and they provide you with the username and the JWT signing secret for this user.
  • These values should be provided to BR-DGE as the jwt Issuer & jwt Signing secret

NOTE: The jwt values are not required for MOTO (Mail Order Telephone Order) Retail Channel.

  • How to locate your Site Reference?
  • When you sign up to Trust Payments, you will be provided with a “test” Site Reference and a “live” Site Reference:
  • Test site references are prefixed with “test_”, for example, “test_site12345”.

  • How to locate your Region?
  • You need to submit a request to the Trust Payments Support to check which gateway (region) your account has been configured to use.

Additional Configuration for MIT

If you wish to process merchant initiated transactions (MIT) to Trust Payments, you will need to contact Trust Payments Support requesting that the scheme reference data functionality is enabled on your site reference(s).
MIT functionality is only supported if you are processing payments with TRU Acquiring.
